THE PETRELL PALACEThe landmark of sustainable development promoted by Head Invest Ltd is located close to the sea, next to Oulu market square. The Petrell palace is a culturally remarkable building dating back to 1884. This neo-renaissance-style 2,750 square metre building was restored in 2000-2001 on assignment of Head Invest Ltd. This building, also known as "Teräksen talo" (after the ironmonger's that had premises there), now houses the set of restaurants called Uusi Seurahuone; thus the historical atmosphere of the building is available to everyone in Oulu. The driving force behind the project was "from tar to technology", which indicated that Oulu and its neighbouring areas have developed from a tar capital to a high-tech capital. |
